Business FAQ
How does business coaching work?
Many employers provide support for their employees to attend training courses or to continue their education. Few employers, however, have processes in place to ensure that new knowledge is transferred back to the workplace and so they lose out on the real benefits of having more knowledgeable employees.
Left to their own devices it is easy for people to avoid uncomfortable situations brought about by change or to deal with them using old patterns that are no longer effective. This is where a coach steps in and provides the necessary support to ensure success.
Business coaching inspires employees to the realisation that they truly have the potential to be the best that they can be. This is achieved through the use of proven coaching models and techniques that increase awareness and responsibility.
Business coaching motivates employees to be more accountable and to take more effective action to improve their performance in a supportive, safe and caring environment.
Who benefits most from coaching in a business?
EVERYONE! Each individual employee contributes to the overall success of a business and maximising their potential will increase the performance of the business as a whole.
Employees can work individually or in teams with a trained coach to maximise their performance and each coaching program is individually created to meet their specific needs.
How is business coaching different to consulting?
Consultants offer expertise, advice or solutions and tend to be information based. They deal with specific problems, whereas coaches are more forward looking and tend to evoke answers from the individual believing that they are naturally creative and resourceful.
How is business coaching different to training?
Training tends to have a fixed agenda set by the trainer, whereas in coaching the client sets the agenda and the coaching is flexible to accommodate for each individual’s varying needs. In coaching, change comes from within and brings about shifts in thinking and action as compared to training where change comes from outside.
